Pause and verify before sharing identity or loan information, transferring money or responding to an unexpected message.
Do not pay an unexpected upfront fee.
Stop if someone asks you to transfer money before a loan is disbursed or claims payment is required to release an approval.
Use only verified channels.
Do not send an MLCB report, loan contract or identity document through social media, ordinary email or WhatsApp. Use the approved journey when it is available.
Verify the licensed lender.
Check the lender’s name, approved address, landline and website against the Ministry of Law list before visiting or accepting an offer.
